Steven McMorrow - Executive Director
Steven McMorrow is a dedicated cannabis advocate working to foster industry growth in Western New York. With over a decade of industry experience across multiple states—most recently in Colorado—he has built a career supporting cannabis businesses through operations, sales, and community-building.
In Colorado, he founded, ran, and successfully sold Cannabis Clean, a specialized cleaning company for the industry. Now back home in Buffalo, he leads Buffalo Cannabis Network (BCN), a platform dedicated to connecting and strengthening the local cannabis community.
Steven also serves as an Inside Sales Manager at Thrive Agritech, helping cultivators optimize operations with advanced lighting solutions. Passionate about responsible growth and industry collaboration, he is committed to help shape the future of cannabis in Western New York.
John D'Angelo -Chief Brand Strategist
John D'Angelo, the Founder and Chief Strategist of Case Study Labs, has earned a reputation as a respected mentor and guiding force within New York's cannabis industry. His combination of strategic thinking and artistic vision sets him apart, allowing him access to rooms and partnerships others simply do not have.
Courtney Lynn- Director of Membership & Partnerships
Courtney is a seasoned Commercial Insurance Producer with nine years of experience at Weed Ross Insurance. Specializing in cannabis insurance, she holds a CICS accreditation, showcasing her deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence. She focuses on General Liability, Commercial Property, Workers Compensation, Crop Coverage, Product Liability, and Directors and Officers Coverage. Courtney is passionate about providing simple, straightforward insurance solutions tailored to meet her clients' unique needs. With a focus on transparency and reliability, she helps businesses navigate the complexities of commercial coverage with confidence.
Thomas Spanos - Strategic Legal Advisor
Thomas Spanos, a Jamestown, NY native, is a lawyer helping small cannabis entrepreneurs navigate the legal path to their businesses. His work includes licensing, compliance, fundraising, and business transactions. He led the Organic Blooms lawsuit, securing a statewide injunction that impacted licensing practices. Passionate about supporting new cannabis businesses, he volunteers on the Buffalo Cannabis Network Board of Directors.
Nikki Lawley - Community Outreach Coordinator
Nikki Lawley is a passionate patient advocate, speaker, and founder of Nikki and the Plant. A former pediatric nurse, her life changed in an instant after a traumatic brain injury in 2016, leading her to discover the healing power of cannabis. Now a leading voice in medical cannabis advocacy, Nikki shares her journey from healthcare provider to patient to advocate, working to raise awareness for invisible illnesses and disabilities. She serves on advisory boards for several organizations, now including Buffalo Cannabis Network, and has been featured on numerous podcasts and industry events. Nikki lives on Grand Island with her husband and their beloved pets.
